Picture Representation

This picture is a good representation of Julius Caesar, because the story has a major theme of betrayal. The two faces of this picture shows the two-faced Brutus, being a close friend to Caesar, but then going against him in the end. The knives in the back of the figure show the numerous betrayals to Caesar, from Casca, and everyone else. The darkness of the picture represents the dark setting of this play, and the betrayal that followed it.

Caesar Journal

Deal Journal,
Ah, I love my life! Waking in the early morning to find my beautiful wife Calphurnia begging me not to leave for the senate! She’s adorable. <3 I told her that I wouldn’t leave for the senate today, but stay home with her, so she knows that I will not die. Oh, what is this? My friends have come to great me for a meeting! Brutus, Cassius, all of them! How they love me. They all wanted me to read their petitions, yada yada, and---wait… what was that? I am dead?! What? Is that my corpse laying in the dirt, beneath my “friends”? Why you little---!

Brutus Journal

Journal---
We had a meeting this morning, of how we’re going to deal with Caesar. We’ve decided to just kill him. His ways of going about wanting to be king, when still we live in a republic is unjust and crude. So, we plan to just kill him off all together. We need to rid of Mark Antony, as well… He will only cause a problem within our assassination. Soon, Caesar will cease to exist as Rome’s unwanted king.

Brutus Journal

Journal---
I just realized something today. As Cassius, Casca, Cicero, and Cinna and I were discussing about Caesar’s being crowned this afternoon, but for some reason refusing it and passing out with foam at the mouth, I realized that there are very, very many people with C names. I feel left out. With Caesar already wanting to be king, I am upset. The fact that I am the only one who does not have a C name in this group, I am very much more displeased from when I first became upset.

Caesar Journal

Dear Journal,
Today, an old soothsayer came to me said to beware of the 15th of March. It was quite a hilarious scene, watching this old man stare at me with the insane gaze in his eyes. Everyone and I, besides Brutus and Cassius, left to go speak to my people. Everyone was praising me, but I raised my hand and told them no, don’t make me your king. They all begged and begged, and praised my refusal some more. I began to fear that my refusal would only make them want me more, so I faked passing out. They still praise me. FML
